Lake Charles Composite Squadron
Welcome to the Lake Charles Composite Squadron,
Civil Air Patrol. This site is here to provide information about our current
and upcoming squadron activities. Please note that this site should change
often so check back soon.
The Lake Charles Composite Squadron is a member of the Southwest Louisiana
Mutual Aid Association and is called on to perform many support operations
frequently. Civil Air Patrol not only responds to Aircraft related emergencies
but plant accidents, train derailments, and natural disasters. With Slow
Scan Image technology the squadron often provides the eyes in the sky
for ground resources.
The Cadet program is equipped to provide young men and women a chance
to participate in Leadership Development, Aerospace Education, and Emergency
Services training. The activities that the Cadet Program provides allow
cadets to learn self-reliance and self-discipline while being exposed
to the world of civilian and military aviation. Kids from the 6th grade
up to age 18 are eligible to join the Cadet Program.
Meetings:
The senior members meet on the first and third Tuesday
from 18:00 to 19:00.
Cadets meet every Tuesday from 19:00 to 20:30.
Our meetings are at the Lake Charles Regional Airport
at the C.A.P. building near the control tower.
Feel free to contact us for more information on joining
our squadron.
The Squadron is commanded by Maj. Ed Jones, CAP with Capt. Dennis
Scalia, CAP as the Deputy Commander for Cadets.
